the fourth-generation Ram 1500, providing shoppers with an economical
alternative to new models that is available with four-wheel drive. When
properly equipped, these trucks have a maximum towing capacity of up to 10,620
and a maximum payload capacity of up to 1,810 pounds.
How much can the Ram 1500 tow?
New Ram 1500 trucks can tow up to 12,750
pounds when equipped with the available 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 with eTorque. Some
trims, such as the Tradesman®, may require the addition of features such as a
Class IV Receiver-Hitch or Trailer-Tow Group to achieve maximum towing
capacity.
Which Ram 1500 has the highest payload
capacity?
Ram 1500 Tradesman® trucks are available
with a maximum payload capacity of up to 2,300 pounds when properly equipped
with a Quad Cab, 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6, rear-wheel drive, and a long
bed.
Which Ram 1500 has air
suspension?
Ram 1500 Big Horn and higher trims are
available with a class-exclusive Active-Level™ Four Corner Air Suspension
system that delivers improved ground clearance or fuel efficiency. This system
provides up to 10.7 inches of ground clearance and can automatically adjust to
reduce drag on the highway or enhance accessibility when you're climbing
inside.
Can the Ram 1500 tow a fifth
wheel?
While the Ram 1500 can technically tow a
fifth wheel, the light-duty truck segment often lacks the payload capacity to
transport these trailers safely. For fifth wheel applications, we encourage
shoppers to explore the Ram 2500 or Ram 3500.
