Trailhawk trims are relatively new, and have debuted on the Cherokee, Renegade, and the latest Compass since 2013. Now, the Jeep brand’s largest family member is getting its own, and it’s more capable than many will know what to do with. After all, we’d expect nothing less of a Grand Cherokee wearing a Trailhawk badge.

The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk can be had with any of the three available engines, from EcoDiesel and Pentastar V6s to the mighty HEMI V8. But while this offers a wider choice in power, you’ll find plenty to love even with the popular base Pentastar model. Besides, most of what sets the Trailhawk apart is in its suspension, approach angle, and easy-to-use drive modes. To see how it all fits together, watch the very-thorough clip from AutoGuide above.
