Our mutually preferred American brand, Ram, is unequivocally associated with gusto. Simply put, they're well-known for engineering pickups that have the reliability and strength required to get the job done. However, there's more to the truck-maker than that.

Specifically, safety is paramount to the brand. In fact, the proof of that is in the pudding: Ram works in cooperation with the gurus over at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to survey the reliability of their vehicles throughout their lifespan. That means that trucks from present and past model years are monitored. When an issue arises, they're handled appropriately.

That's the case with the most recent recall, which is affecting a large number of used Ram trucks. Namely, the American automaker is rounding up an estimated 453,000 units in three different campaigns to evaluate the pickup's steering-system tie rods. The vehicles in question include the 2500 and 3500 from an array of model years.

Now, we at Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Pocatello realize that this news may be interpreted as alarming. And, while the issue is certainly one that needs to be addressed, as a Ram dealer we'd like to highlight a few positives.

For starters, the recall is rounding up an expansive number of Ram trucks to ensure that all the models that may be affected are fixed. Moreover, the American automaker is offering complimentary repairs when necessary.

With that said, if you drive a Ram 2500 or 3500, we kindly welcome you to visit our auto service center in Pocatello, ID. At your earliest convenience we're happy to check your truck. If the steering-system tie rods prove to be misaligned, then we'll fix the problem, free of charge.
