Auto enthusiasts at The Car Connection typically test out a wide range of models that range from crossovers to SUV's over a six-month span. This month they've decided to change it up by testing out a pickup truck during the 30 Days of the 2013 RAM 1500 event. They plan to push the pickup to the limit by getting creative to see what it is capable of carrying, hauling and towing.

The model being tested is a 2013 RAM 1500 SLT Crew Cab 4X4. Although it's not the most powerful in the lineup of 1500 models, it still has quite an impressive amount of power. It sports a V-6 engine and four-wheel drive which gives it a tow rating of 4,100 Ibs. and a rating of 1,615 pounds of payload. Just to show what it can actually transport, The Car Connection crew got to work testing out a variety of different products in large quantities.

They determined it was able to carry 1600 Cans of SPAM, each weighing 12 ounces. Next it tried out Pop-Tarts one of our favorite breakfast snacks. Turns out the RAM 1500 could haul 750 Pop-Tarts in a small U-Haul trailer. It could also carry 800 dodge balls, the cast of Mob Wives, five bighorn rams (each weighing about 300 pounds), or the 1,200-pound Love Boat bar. They certainly got crafty with testing out the power of this pickup.

We doubt any of you in the greater Pocatello, ID area will need to transport any of these items listed, but this just goes to show that the RAM 1500 could be quite useful for transporting all sorts of objects. To learn more, head on over to our Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM of Pocatello showroom to schedule your test drive today. We'd also be happy to show you what our other new RAM models have to offer and answer any questions that you may have!
